In The Groove 2 is not able to detect the state of the "Write Protect" switch present on many Flash drives. If your drive has a write protect switch:
The game did not find a file system on this device.
Some USB drives, even though they work in Windows or Mac OSX, do not work with In The Groove. Manufacturors often use different USB chipsets for the same model of USB drive, so it's impossible to say that a certain model of drive is guaranteed compatible or incompatible. We recommend that you buy a small, cheap USB drive and use that with In The Groove.
The game could not write a file to your drive. Check that the write-protect switch on your drive is set to off.
The memory card was inserted after all players were finalized. You must insert your card and allow sufficient time for the game to read your card before making a choice on the Style screen (1 Player, 2 Players, Double).
Your card was unplugged and another card was plugged in its place mid-game.
The game is trying to mount and test your memory card.
The game has detected that the memory card has been removed.
Your data was read from the memory card, but the digital signature does not match the data. Either there was an error while writing to your card last time or your data has been tampered with outside of the game.
If "(backup)" is shown next to your name, then the signature check for your primary data failed and the game loaded your backup data from the "LastGood" directory instead.
To protect against these write errors, In The Groove saves the last successfully loaded data in the "LastGood" directory on your memory card. If your main data fails to load, ITG will automatically fall back to the data in the LastGood directory. When ITG successfully loads from the LastGood directory, "(backup)" will appear next to your memory card name in the game. You don't need to take any action - just be aware that that the data saved from your previous game has been lost. Consider purchasing a new pen drive and copying your ITG files over to the new pen drive.
